Excitement and comedy are coming outdoors for spring as PYT launch Wareabouts, their unique street theatre ensemble training program. The program is the first of it’s kind in Fairfield , and starts Saturday September 6 at the Fairfield School of Arts.
PYT will hold two Wareabouts workshops, where young people will learn elements of physical and visual theatre including mime, movement, clowning and other forms of street theatre. The program culminates with street performances for the local Fairfield community.
The first workshop series ‘Improvisation & Comedy’ will be taught by award winning actor and director Craig Anderson, creator and star of the comedy action series ‘Double the Fist’ as seen on the ABC. The second series ‘Physical Theatre’ will led by internationally acclaimed physical theatre company ‘Legs on the Wall’.
Supported by Fairfield City Council, Wareabouts is Fairfield’s first official Street Theatre Ensemble, and participants will perform for the community on October 4 and November 8, bringing fun and laughter to Fairfield CBD.
The workshops are completely free and open to young people between 16 and 25.
To register for the Wareabouts workshops email wareabouts(AT)pyt.com.au or call PYT on 9724 6077.
