WAREABOUTS Youth Street Theatre Ensemble is an initiative of Andy Ko since 2008, to bring live performance to the Fairfield LGA.

The Wareabouts training program provides skills development and performance opportunities for young emerging artists in physical and visual theatre. As a production group, the Wareabouts Ensemble explores performance art traditions and devises captivating outdoor theatre work for spaces and audiences in Fairfield.

Summer Sidewalk Games (Workshop)

The Sidewalk Games are workshops in using Games for Performance, held in January, April, and October.

This workshop is designed for those aged 16-29 with previous performance experience or who have an interest in outdoor performances. It is about exploring Improvisation and Games, both indoors and outdoors, that can be used to create performance and develop performing skills.

We will also be playing “Wareabouts is the Flag”, an outdoor navigation game of teamwork and bright-coloured vests.

Crazy School

Peace and war

We will offer workshops in drama for children aged 4 to 6 years and 7 to 10 years at Connect Studios, Parramatta. Every child gets to be a star by participating in acting exercises, theatre games and practicing drama skills. Our workshops are a fun introduction to drama and enable your child to develop their performing and social skills in a safe environment, which in turn builds self-confidence and self-esteem.

Dates 21, 22, 23 July

Class 1: 4 to 6 year olds 10.30am – 11.30am

Class 2: 7 to 10 year olds 1.30pm – 2.30pm

Over a two day workshop, young people will work with a professional Theatre Sports Practitioner, who will lead the group through an intensive session of Theatre Sports and Improvisation.

Theatre Sports is an international phenomenon, it is an integral part of any performers training and experience in the performing arts.

Introduction to acting for children will consist of creative workshops to build self confidence, encourage imaginative thinking and making new friends. It’s a fusion of games, voice and movement exercises and performing creative stories in groups.
This is a great workshop for your child to improve his or her physical ability and creativity, while having fun and learning important skills such as listening, developing the imagination, participating and being supportive in a team.

Time:        10am – 1pm daily

Stop motion animation is the art of bringing to life clay or silicone puppets by capturing their movements frame by frame, and putting the images together to tell a story on screen.

Famous films that have used this technique and been loved by families are Chicken Run, Wallace and Gromit and Harvey Crumpet.

The workshops will be a fun holiday activity, and give all kids involved the chance to develop their skills in story telling and craft, make their own puppets, meet new friends and build confidence.

Each participant will receive a copy of the animation on DVD.

Date:        19 – 21 January
Time:        10am – 1pm
Age:         16 – 25years

Cost:    $75. This includes a ticket to PYT performance HARD DAZE, on 22nd or 23rd April.

In this three day workshop you will work daily with highly experienced and professional tutors to extend your skills and develop new ones in movement, acting and music making. This will be a fun and interactive workshop!

Attending the performance is optional and if you wanted to attend, this will need to be confirmed at the time of booking. Otherwise the cost of the workshop is $50. All participants will be required to make their own way to the event.

Want to be on TV? Learn how you can star in TV commercials, TV shows and short films. During this introduction to screen acting you will make new friends, develop self-confidence, and build a greater awareness of screen acting. This is a great opportunity for anyone aged 16 – 25 years to develop communication skills and have fun along the way. Students will take part in improvisation activities and learn about characters and scenes.
